How Meta actually pays you

You're paid per 1,000 qualified views — and a few levers move that rate up.

Facebook content monetization pays a rate for every 1,000 'qualified' views. Two numbers decide your earnings: how many of your views qualify, and your rate per thousand.

Qualified views

A view qualifies when the reel is 10s+ long and watched 5s+. Only qualified views earn — so growing the share that qualify (see the 5-second gate) directly grows your income.

What moves your rate

  • Audience location — views from higher-value countries (like the US) pay more per thousand. A more US-weighted audience lifts the whole rate.
  • Originality — original content earns; heavily reused or unoriginal content is discounted.
  • Engagement — comments, shares, and watch-through signal quality and help the rate.
Note · Meta doesn't share these earnings through any tool's API, so Merge reads them from the screenshots you drop into Money Drops — including your exact rate and qualified-view count.
